A young boy who dreams of being a chef uses his culturally diverse background to fuel his culinary ambitions. In this heartwarmingly diverse coming-of-age story, Abe ventures into his backyard of New York City to work with an innovative and exciting street chef, deceitfully telling his family he is going to the traditional summer camp they signed him up for. But when everything in his plan goes wrong, and it's exposed that he's been working in the back kitchens of New York, he must make decisions about his family and passions that very few pre-teens must grapple with.
